Could it be that the sound is somehow equalised and compressed by Youtube? There's an obvious sound change at min. 3:30 but it should be more pronounced.I think it would make more sense if we were to upload a 16/44 of our system playing the same recor...

To move further I need to address a VERY important point.
The reverberation injection is NOT Surround Sound, not multichannel and not any
know to us typical encodings: Dolby, AC3... etc. To be honest when I hear the
mentioning of Surround sound I ...

...but whether it would be a better match to your speakers than the SPU who's to say.
I am planning an SPU Mono vs CG 25 comparison in my system in the fairly new future. Unlike your speakers mine could do with a little help in that area.
Maybe...

Regards,This statement is so incendiary I just had to comment.Given what a horn is designed acoustically to do, it only makes sense that it absolutely must be affected by the material used, since all materials have different reflective, absorpti...

It is wrong to conclude from:
" By the way, the listening tests performed by Keith Holland confirmed that in blind listening tests of various commercial horns, the material, wood, metal, fibreglass, etc was not correlateable with perceived quality....

Another very interesting aspect of the Water Dropping of Macondo is a dramatization of silences and influence of LF decay. Macondo has no own noise and the Super Milqs are dead quiet. However, the perceptions of silence with the Water Drop tweeter an...
To make the story short Autotech is a family business located in Lublin, Poland. Younger brothers graduated in mechanical engineering are cars and racing lovers - with scores in Europe as professional drivers and mechanics. One...

Of course I am not really talking about Rullit but only holding up his implimentations against his stated aims. This is certainly no special case, since most smart people learn the talk and the "look" long before they learn practicum, if they ever d...
I really think the upper bass implementation must be flexible, depending on recording and composer. Plus 3-5 dB for Mahler, more for Bruckner? Actually it is probably not loudness so much as volume of foundation.
It was wh...

I think if you use Pure Power 3000+ it is better to use shorter power cables (2m is very good) . the bass and attacks are better with shorter Power cables.
you should not have any ground loop in your system if you use Pure Power 3000+. it is v...

Back to this thread, there is no arguing that better AC makes better sound from a system that's capable to deliver it in any case. For me, this has not been a matter of long term listening for differences, rather it has in every case been the fairly ...
Pure Power Solution is over 90%

Hm, Amir, I am sure that I am completely comfortable with the
statement that Pure Power Solution is over 90% effective. It is not that I am
not agreeable jerk and need to be ...

I went back and read the introduction at NAT's website, and it makes me suspicious, right away. It makes me wonder if there is an engineer who also has a hard time reading about "his design", or if they all work together to sell expensive amplifiers....
I'm trying to get my head around the tonearm/cartridge matching mechanics.First of all, are ALL cartridges much happier with a heavier tonearm? Even cartridges with a high compliance? My understanding of a "correct" arm ef...

Another interesting observation.... A remarkable things about the Melquiades’ sound is that the Melquiades' notes have much more "spaceal load" then anything else out there, and I do not talk about harmonics but actually "Space". Also the Melqui...

I think there is a definate trend here regarding distortions that cannot be ignored. Guy, you pointed out some excessive 2nd order harmonics with the Melq bias point. Hey, maybe so. I haven't really looked into this tube - but I jus...

Dear Romy,Assuming that your questions are "honest" ones ( I have no reason to believe they are traps, like it happened to me before with a certain Mr. Thor), I will give you "honest" answers, hoping that our dialogue will be of some interest to the ...

Sowter doesn't offer amorphous, though I believe Brian was looking into it a while ago.As for the sound of the mumetal core...well, let me preface this by saying that I have not directly compared amorphous to mumetal, but it sounded - how to put this...

I pack up the new amp today and plug it in with my right Macondo channel. The electricity was not bad I was VERY surprised with the fact that the new amp sounded MUCH more advanced then I anticipated from a chance of MF channels power supplies. The l...

Yeah, and I once thought Krell was the way to go, a boy's (or a man's) dream when I saw pictures of the KSA 100 poweramp for the first time. I must admit that in 1991 I heard a demo with Krell KAS poweramps, Wilson WATT/Puppy's + Pow Wow subwoofer an...

hmmmm... Well, if you say so, I'll go as far as to say maybe. you can get OK sound @ some distance. I sure didn't notice any distance to get even OK sound from. I didn't spend much time in the room, I just wanted to check out th...

Cessaro once again didn't manage to find electronics that compensate the cold TAD sound, so the Silbaton WE demonstration one or two rooms away was quite a contrast. Without being addicted to that kind of sound and without having too much listening e...

Yes, the GM70 is very much unknown to most of us, especially in its "pushed"/HV version, and it is not likely to be properly explored by the average DIYer, either. Lamm did choose to use some of the driving ideas from his proven SET amp, but it ...

Looking at what was presented in Munich High End 2018 I found
one company that picked my interest. It is Jo Sound. I think they are in UK.
There are two comments the I would like to make. The

Clark, I have wondered if you ever "hear" the old records you are surrounded with, because the atmosphere is so "historically charged" that it simply imbues the space? Even in rote terms, those 78s have to make for good "surround".Hard to imagine fr...

I would like to pass some observations on my about sound quality in my video room. The sound in my video room is what I would call very very good, I am not kidding – really good. It is delivered by Altec 21S speaker driven by Yamaha B2 amp and ...

OK, given my usual inattention, it took me a couple of readings to understand that you refer to the inherent differences between the rote sound from sound reinforcement tools and that from home hi-fi. Of course I have gone on ad nauseum about these ...

It seems like most of the effort these days goes into trying to make these things able to play and convert anything to everything, and scant consideration is given to the resultant sound. Does anyone else remember the little Sony "Pro" Walkman tape r...
